District sponsored events & activities cancelled Sat., April 14

All district-sponsored activities and Community Education programs scheduled for Saturday, April 14 are cancelled due to winter weather conditions. This includes the Section 2AA Speech Tournament and ACT testing, both of which were to be held at Chaska High School. Alternate plans for those events will be communicated to high school families once they are arranged. 2 Hour Late Start – 3/6

Due to poor travel conditions, Eastern Carver County Schools will begin two hours late Tuesday, March 6 . All schools will start two hours later than usual. Morning Club Care is cancelled. Full-day preschool will open two hours late at 8:30 am. Morning half-day preschool and morning E C F E sessions are cancelled. Staff should report as per your contractual guidelines.  Thank you. Summer Care Registration begins Feb. 20

Beginning at 6 a.m. on Tuesday, February 20, enrollment for summer care programs will open online. There are three programs to choose from. Summer Edventures (ages 3-5 years entering kindergarten) Summer Club Care (entering grades 1-5) Summer PULSE (entering grades 5-8) Programs offer age-appropriate summer opportunities for academic enrichment, social skills development, and active play. Hooked on Books…and the Arts, too! – Feb. 24

Join us for a morning of free family fun to celebrate reading and the arts! Saturday, February 24 9 am to Noon Chanhassen High School This year’s event features Douglas Wood, author-illustrator and accomplished musician and composer. Wood has written more than 30 books with over 2.5 million in print. Old Turtle is a famed international classic, and his What Grown-Ups Can’t Do books are kid favorites and New York Time bestsellers. Douglas Wood signs and performs on guitar, banjo, and mandolin, often appearing with his Wild Spirit Band. Today, he visits schools across the country, inspiring them to create and share their own stories. Hooked on Books…and the Arts, too! is a community-wide celebration in support of literacy and the arts.
