Learn the basics of how to improvise on your instrument through live Google Meet sessions on Tuesday from 9-9:50 a.m. June 16-July 14. Lessons include learning scales, patterns, chord progressions, rhythmic ideas, learning riffs, learning melodies, building a solo, establishing confidence, transcribing your favorite solos, and much more. Students should have at least one year of experience on the instrument they want to use in this class. Instruments include all woodwind, brass, string, percussion and rhythm section instruments. This class is great for students interested in being in Jazz Band, Garage Band, Country Band and Pop Ensemble. Google Meet sessions will also be recorded so you can watch them at your convenience if you miss any or want to review the lessons. The class will culminate with an online recording where each student who wants to will take an improvised solo and we’ll edit them all together as if we were all jamming together on an actual jazz or rock song.
