Learn a couple fun pep band songs and the basics of marching through live Google Meet sessions on Tuesdays from 10-10:50 a.m. June 16-July 14. Each rehearsal will be guided practice in the comfort of your own home as you play your part and march in your living room along with the video. The class will culminate with a performance at a date and time TBA that will take us through multiple neighborhoods. Each student will perform alongside their parent’s car being slowly driven down the street by their parent at a safe distance behind the next closest performer. Music will be coordinated on a live YouTube broadcast of the songs that will be playing from a phone that each student will be using with earbuds. Students should have at least one year experience. We are looking for woodwind, brass and percussion students as well as flag twirlers. Woodwind and brass players will need to have a lyre for their instrument. Information on how to purchase one of these will be provided at the first rehearsal. Students will also need a t-shirt. This is the same shirt we have used in the past. If you need one, order one separately in the Community Ed Marching Band t-shirt “course” sign up. Google Meet sessions will also be recorded so you can watch them at your convenience if you miss any or want to review the lessons.
Students will also need to purchase a shirt for $7 (tshirt payment may be made below) and a lyre to hold their music (costs vary between $5-$12).
