Beginning & Intermediate Pottery @ Chaska High School

Have you ever wanted to learn how to make your own pottery or clay projects? Learn how to throw on the wheel in this laid back studio atmosphere. Beginners will be introduced to the potters wheel and start by creating bowls, cups and other basic forms. Intermediate learners will expand their skills and techniques with more advanced forms and demonstrations. Every student will leave with finished projects that are functional, food safe and an original work of art. $17 materials fee for the 1st bag of clay. Students buy more if needed.

Knitting for Beginners @ Family Learning Center

Learn how to knit!  It is very relaxing and there are so many different items that you can make and wear.  This will be four session class.  In the first session, you will learn the basic stitches and how they are completed.  In sessions 2, 3 and 4, you will choose a project to complete in our time together.

The Pouring of Paint @ Family Learning Center

Join the newest craze in the art world while taking the exceptionally exciting class on The Pouring of Paint.
No abundant artist abilities that you are aware of?  No worries!  You may even discover your inner Piccaso while being carefully guided under the proficient eye of the teacher.  While learning The Pouring of Paint you will be using specific techniques to achieve a stunning, one of a kind masterpiece.  Your guests will wonder: “Why is this not in an upscale art gallery?” or “Could they have possibly borrowed it from the Louvre in Paris?”  No!  YOU created this masterpiece in a Community Education Class!!

$30 due to instructor at class (you will be able to choose desired size during registration process)-
Options include:
3- 8″X 8″ Canvases
2 – 12″ X 12″ Canvases
1 – 8″ X 24″ Canvas

Supplies include:
*Premier canvas that is wrapped on a frame and ready to hang.  Canvas is triple-primed and 100% cotton duck cloth.
*Plethora of paint colors, additives that help achieve fantabulous results including the largest cells size possible.
*Plastic coverings, gloves, aluminum trays, cups, stir sticks and other items.
*Any additional supplies needed for the class

Tap Dance 2 @ Chanhassen High
Sep 25 @ 7:30 pm – 8:20 pm

Take your tapping to the next level. This class is fun cardio exercise that will improve your dance technique and rhythm. You will learn new tap dance steps and a choreographed tap routine. This class is for those with previous tap experience or have taken Tap Dance 1. Bring your tap shoes.

Learn the lifelong benefits of Kung Fu, the Chinese art of self-defense and fitness, from a Hong Kong champion. Not just a punching, kicking, self-defense class, Kung Fu teaches awareness of self and surroundings and improves self-esteem and confidence. Join a FUN, progressive, full participation class that focuses on helping students develop leadership, discipline, concentration and coordination skills for a healthy mind and body. Improve your coordination, strength, flexibility and endurance. Parents: don’t sit at the sideline. Sign up and participate with your child in class.  This is a skill building progressive training program for beginners through Black Belt. Optional uniform and certification from White to Black Belt are available.
