The wiggling and giggling will begin with parent & child interaction time.  After a lively circle, parents will join the Parent Educator facilitated discussion group, giving you the opportunity to engage with others about topics ranging from eating & sleeping, toileting and social skills challenges and strategies.

Fitness, Mindfulness and Yoga Fun Boot Camp with Fitness Boomers @ Chanhassen Elementary

This fun boot-camp has a little of everything for an active healthy lifestyle!  For BOYS & GIRLS!  Have fun with various types of obstacle courses and ultimate yoga challenges and other fun challenging fitness activities and learn!  We will focus on developing a greater awareness of both body, mind wellness and breathing as we learn how to be a healthy person in mind and body.  Learn to focus and concentrate on how meditation can help lift the mind and spirit.  Increase balance, flexibility, agility, coordination, speed and motor skills.  Learn about healthy eating habits, good sportsmanship and active life style and encourage personal fitness that can stretch through adolescence and adulthood.  We’ll focus on different topics each week, ranging from Love and Kindness to how to overcome frustration and sadness.  Please bring a yoga mat if you have one!

Grandmasters of Chess @ Jonathan Elementary

New and returning students invited. Each {YEL!} Chess class follows four basic components:
•Teach It!…Each class, students are taught different chess concepts and coached to implement those concepts into their chess games
•Practice It!…Students practice positions set by the coach to improve their understanding of the concept.
•Puzzle It!… Students are given chess puzzles (constructed by WIM Serafima Sokolovskaya) and work with coach guidance to solve them.
•Play It!…Each class ends with students playing 20-30 minutes of chess. Coaches often feature in-class tournaments during the session.

Garage Band @ Chaska Middle School West

Are you looking to be part of a rock band with people who have the same love of music as you do?Then come be part of the District 112 Garage Band.Since 2004, we have been providing students an innovative rock band experience like none other in the Twin Cities area.  Play or sing everything from classic rock to the newest rock with other musicians who love it as much as you do.We are looking for singers, guitarists, keyboardists, bass players, drummers and brass/sax players who have at least two years experience on their instruments.
Performances at Rockin’ The Suburbs in Eden Prairie on Saturday, December 8, the CMSW Talent Show on Friday, January 11, the Rock-It! Concert on Friday, February 1 and a closing event in February.

Audition is required. Auditions will be held on Monday, October 8 in the CMSW Band Room at 3:50 pm and Wednesday, October 10 in the PRM Band Room at 3:50 p.m.

Students should choose one of these dates. No sign up is necessary to audition. Audition material will be available in the PRMS, CMSE, and CMSW band rooms by Sept. 10. Please don’t register for class until audition results have been posted.

A Day of Drawing @ Victoria Elementary

If it’s drawing, painting, and cartooning you’re after, then this is the class for you! Join us for a class full of drawing fun! In this introductory drawing class, basic techniques and principles of drawing will be taught. You will master a simple step-by-step drawing method as you create drawings that glow-in-the-dark, artwork that pops out at you, a painting on a real canvas board, and so much more.

Yoga Mini Boot Camp @ Pioneer Ridge Middle School

“Let’s all have fun together, help and support and lift each other up!  Releasing the stressful minds and bodies and fill them up with love and peace.  This uplifting yoga session will focus on fine tuning alignment and developing greater awareness of body, mind and breathing.  Building inner peace and building strong, resilient minds!  We’ll also learn to be positive, concentrate, and create and spread positive energy.  Will have fun with up-beating music, moving to the music and exercise and lots of body movements in a group setting.

Child and Babysitting Safety @ Chanhassen High
Dec 1 @ 9:00 am – 12:00 pm

Participants will learn the responsibilities of being a prepared, safe, responsible and professional babysitter.  Topics include child development, behavior guidance, supervision, proper feeding and diapering techniques, personal safety, medical emergencies, basic first aid care and fire safety.  Dolls, bottles, diaper supplies will be provided at class for hands-on participation.  The course is developed by the American Safety and Health Institute and approved by the American Pediatrics Association.  Class participants receive a booklet and certification card.  Participants should bring a peanut free snack and beverage to class.
