Grandmasters of Chess @ Bluff Creek Elementary
Apr 16 @ 3:15 pm – 4:15 pm

New and returning students invited. Each {YEL!} Chess class follows four basic components:
•Teach It!…Each class, students are taught different chess concepts and coached to implement those concepts into their chess games
•Practice It!…Students practice positions set by the coach to improve their understanding of the concept.
•Puzzle It!… Students are given chess puzzles (constructed by WIM Serafima Sokolovskaya) and work with coach guidance to solve them.
•Play It!…Each class ends with students playing 20-30 minutes of chess. Coaches often feature in-class tournaments during the session.

Junior Basketball- March Madness @ Jonathan Elementary

MARCH MADNESS IS HERE! Time for some round-ball! Take your skills to the next level in this fun, fast-paced session of Junior Basketball. Emphasis is placed on basic skills development of dribbling, shooting, passing, sportsmanship and teamwork. We then use engaging and dynamic games to cement students’ growth including our unique three-on-three style game. This is a high-octane class with an inclusive atmosphere. But hurry! The shot-clock is running down!

Fitness, Midnfulness and Yoga Fun with Fitness Boomers @ Victoria Elementary

This class has a little of everything you need for an active healthy lifestyle! Have fun with a mini fitness boot camp, games, activities, and rhythmic dancing.  We will focus on developing a greater awareness of both body, mind wellness and breathing as we learn how to be a healthy person in mind and body. Learn to focus and concentrate on how meditation can help lift mind and spirit. Increase balance, flexibility, agility, coordination, speed and motor skills. Learn about healthy eating habits, good sportsmanship and active life style and encourage personal fitness that can stretch through the adolescent and adulthood.  We’ll focus on different topics each week, ranging from Love and Kindness to How to overcome frustration and sadness.  Please bring a mat if you have one!

Beyond Pinch Pots with Kidcreate Studio @ Victoria Elementary

Every kid loves making pinch pots! But let’s go beyond that and learn super cool techniques to transform pinch pots into puppy pals, silly rabbits, playful penguins and much more. Not only will the kids learn the basics of working with clay but they will create amazing clay creations that are way cooler than a plain old ordinary pinch pot! Shhhh, don’t tell anyone, but this class is our best-kept secret! Register early before it fills up!

Science Comes Alive! @ Clover Ridge Elementary

Wonder at the marvels of natural science as you explore how animals adapt to their environments, how bugs defend themselves, and how life can survive at the bottom of the sea. Discover the secrets of science’s impact on the brain through magic tricks and art. Explore chemistry as you figure out the difference between solutions and suspensions and experience the power of chemical reactions. Delve into the science of paleontology and learn about life long gone: the dinosaurs! And of course, get a great signature Mad Science take-home every day! Jr. Dance @ La Academia

Glissade, pirouette and chasse´ your way across the floor as you learn fundamental dance repertoire while preparing for the end of session recital. Each {YEL!} Junior Dance class follows four basic components: •Teach It Each class students are taught dance fundamentals.•Practice It! Students practice those fundamentals as a group and individually. •Move It! They implement what they’ve learned into across-the-floor and bar routines. •Dance It! Finally, students put it all together in a choreographed routine in preparation for the recital. YEL 4! Fencing @ Pioneer Ridge

Fencing is one of the fastest growing sports in the USA and Youth Enrichment League (YEL) fencing continues to evolve to match that pace. Olympic Coach Ro Sobalvarro heads up YEL’s curriculum, ongoing instructor training and tournament consultation. Coach Sobalvarro brings with him an immense knowledge of youth, national and international fencing. Fall is a great time for beginning and returning students. New students get introduced to a pulse-pounding sport while returning students continue their study through Coach Sobalvarro’s progressive curriculum. Safety is our first priority.
