Grandmasters of Chess @ Bluff Creek Elementary
Apr 16 @ 3:15 pm – 4:15 pm

New and returning students invited. Each {YEL!} Chess class follows four basic components:
•Teach It!…Each class, students are taught different chess concepts and coached to implement those concepts into their chess games
•Practice It!…Students practice positions set by the coach to improve their understanding of the concept.
•Puzzle It!… Students are given chess puzzles (constructed by WIM Serafima Sokolovskaya) and work with coach guidance to solve them.
•Play It!…Each class ends with students playing 20-30 minutes of chess. Coaches often feature in-class tournaments during the session.

Junior Basketball- March Madness @ Jonathan Elementary

MARCH MADNESS IS HERE! Time for some round-ball! Take your skills to the next level in this fun, fast-paced session of Junior Basketball. Emphasis is placed on basic skills development of dribbling, shooting, passing, sportsmanship and teamwork. We then use engaging and dynamic games to cement students’ growth including our unique three-on-three style game. This is a high-octane class with an inclusive atmosphere. But hurry! The shot-clock is running down!

Track and Field @ Chaska Middle School West

It’s time for track!  Develop skills, knowledge and experience with various running and field events.  The program includes inter-squad and area school meets, and a track t-shirt.  Wear running shoes and plan for the weather with appropriate clothing.  The first day of practice the participants should report to the CMSW Small Gym changed and ready to practice. Please register by the school your student attends. Parents and athletes will receive the season schedule during the first week of practice.

Latin Mariachi Band @ Chaska Middle School West

The contemporary Latin music of today plus the traditional Mariachi music it grew from is now available for you to perform here in District 112.  Come sing or play guitar, guitarron, violin, brass instruments, bass guitar or drums with our Mariachi/Latin Band.  We will learn both traditional Mariachi music and contemporary Latin hit songs.  Music experience is preferred but not required.  We will also have an opportunity to perform.  Come be part of the fun!

Fitness, Midnfulness and Yoga Fun with Fitness Boomers @ Victoria Elementary

This class has a little of everything you need for an active healthy lifestyle! Have fun with a mini fitness boot camp, games, activities, and rhythmic dancing.  We will focus on developing a greater awareness of both body, mind wellness and breathing as we learn how to be a healthy person in mind and body. Learn to focus and concentrate on how meditation can help lift mind and spirit. Increase balance, flexibility, agility, coordination, speed and motor skills. Learn about healthy eating habits, good sportsmanship and active life style and encourage personal fitness that can stretch through the adolescent and adulthood.  We’ll focus on different topics each week, ranging from Love and Kindness to How to overcome frustration and sadness.  Please bring a mat if you have one!

Beyond Pinch Pots with Kidcreate Studio @ Victoria Elementary

Every kid loves making pinch pots! But let’s go beyond that and learn super cool techniques to transform pinch pots into puppy pals, silly rabbits, playful penguins and much more. Not only will the kids learn the basics of working with clay but they will create amazing clay creations that are way cooler than a plain old ordinary pinch pot! Shhhh, don’t tell anyone, but this class is our best-kept secret! Register early before it fills up!

Ultimate Frisbee Team @ Chaska Middle School East

Ultimate Frisbee is a fast paced non-contact sport that is requires a team of 7 to move a disc (frisbee) up an soccer-length sized field into an endzone. The Chaska Ultimate team was established in 2015 and it continues to grow. The season starts in mid-March and end in early June. A player can expect 2-3 practices per week, one game per week, and 2-3 weekend tournaments. Games will be played on Thursdays, schedule and locations TBD. The team is open to all players in grades 9-12.

Working with Acrylics & Water Mediums @ Sara Lee Hanlon's Art Studio

All levels of experience including beginners are welcome. This course offers the opportunity to explore the acrylic medium. Choices are paint on canvas, watercolor, watercolor mixed with other compatible mediums and collage. Work with subjects you choose, at your own pace and painting style. Instructor brings idea file to work from or bring your own. Repeating this course will continue to hone skills. A materials list will be emailed before the start of class. Sara has extensive teaching experience, holds a BFA through MCAD and owns a gallery. Classes are at instructor studio, 500 N Pine St. Chaska, MN

Essential Oil Make & Take! @ Chaska Middle School West
Apr 16 @ 6:30 pm – 8:30 pm

Oil blends are created by combining several single oils to form an entirely new product.  Blends are formulated to address a specific physical or emotional theme or issue.  Oil blends are different from single oils but not necessarily superior.  Still, blends may be more equipped than single oils in some ways.  When oil blends are formulated well, they create synergies, or increased effectiveness in supporting those specific issues they were created to address.  You will be taking home a few items from made in class as well as additional recipes on how to make more!

You’ll take home between 2-3 oil products along with multiple recipes!  Each session is a different type of Essential Oils product.  SF – Summer Fun Oils, P – Perfumes, WR – Wellness Rollers.  Please note, there will be a $30 supply fee to be paid to the instructor at the beginning of class.  Please bring cash and note taking materials.
