Track and Field @ Chaska Middle School West
Apr 18 @ 3:45 pm – 5:00 pm

It’s time for track!  Develop skills, knowledge and experience with various running and field events.  The program includes inter-squad and area school meets, and a track t-shirt.  Wear running shoes and plan for the weather with appropriate clothing.  The first day of practice the participants should report to the CMSW Small Gym changed and ready to practice. Please register by the school your student attends. Parents and athletes will receive the season schedule during the first week of practice.

Flow Yoga @ Family Learning Center

This class focuses on a variety of yoga formats including holding (Hatha) as well as connecting breath with flowing movements to lengthen and strengthen the body. The emphasis of each class will be creating proper body alignment, mindfulness, and observing breath and body. This yoga class is great for those looking to release tension and stress in the body after your workday. You will leave this class feeling refreshed and relaxed.  If you enjoy working out with Kaari, sign up for Total Body Conditioning and Fit Yoga class (#4391) to receive a discount.

This is a combo class of Kaari’s Total Body Conditioning and Flow Yoga classes.  Sign up for this class to receive a discount for taking multiple classes taught by Kaari!  Discount is already included in the price.

Traditional Southern Cooking – A Dinner @ Chaska High School

Beginning in the 1690’s, food in the U.S. deep south was heavily influenced by early settlers from France, Germany, and Spain.  Slaves from Senegal, Africa, then Cuban refugees and Cajuns from Nova Scotia, Canada also contributed to the medley of flavors using the wealth of local seafood, vegetables, poultry, livestock and of course pecans.

Join us in creating memorable meal to include: Crab Dip, traditional Cheese Straws, Gumbo, Jambalaya, Red Beans and Rice, Buttermilk Biscuits, Cheese Grits, Pecan Praline candy and traditional Bread Pudding with Bourbon Sauce.  And we may add a few more recipes!
$15 Food Fee due to instructor at class

World Grooves @ Chanhassen High School

This is a dance fitness class featuring exotic rhythms from around the world.  Come sweat and have fun dancing easy to follow routines of Belly Dance, Bollywood, Samba, Salsa, American Pop, and more.  All levels welcome, come try it!

Wedding Dance – It’s Not Too Late to Look Great! @ Chaska High School

You thought about it! You wanted to! But where did the time go? Not to worry. In this 2-hour workshop, Monica Mohn, nominated by MNBride for ” Best Wedding Dance Instruction,” will guide you with fun moves and simple tips to have you feeling comfortable and looking great on that special day! Feel free to bring your special song. Couples only please.

H.I.I.T. Circuit Training @ Chaska High School

Make the most of your workout with this High Intensity Interval Training! Get a head to toe workout in 30 minutes! Siting all day in a desk can be hard on our bodies and we all know activity is an important part of a healthy lifestyle – all of us included! Circuit training is a quick, fun way to incorporate activity for a head to toe workout. Be an advocate for your health and join this fun, active class! All equipment provided and all levels welcome!

6th Grade Honor Band @ Chaska Middle School West

This brand new course offering is filled with dedicated 6th grade musicians as recommended by their band instructor.  Fun and challenging music will be programmed for a concert to be presented on Monday, June 4th at Chanhassen High School.
Directors are Scott Prescott and Eric Songer.

Middle School Honor Band (Grades 7 & 8) @ Chaska Middle School East
Apr 19 @ 3:45 pm – 4:35 pm

This ensemble is for 7th and 8th grade band students from each District 112 Middle School.  you must be nominated by your band director before enrolling in this course.  Honor Band is an advanced ensemble for middle school students who work hard in band and have reached high levels of achievement on their instruments.  Students will learn 6 pieces within only 10 rehearsals and then have two performance dates.  There will be an Elementary School tour on Friday, June 1 and a finale concert on Monday, June 4 at Chanhassen High School.  This course will be co-taught by Matt Potter and Gina Ford at Chaska Middle School East.
