Traditional Southern Cooking – A Dinner @ Chaska High School

Beginning in the 1690’s, food in the U.S. deep south was heavily influenced by early settlers from France, Germany, and Spain.  Slaves from Senegal, Africa, then Cuban refugees and Cajuns from Nova Scotia, Canada also contributed to the medley of flavors using the wealth of local seafood, vegetables, poultry, livestock and of course pecans.

Join us in creating memorable meal to include: Crab Dip, traditional Cheese Straws, Gumbo, Jambalaya, Red Beans and Rice, Buttermilk Biscuits, Cheese Grits, Pecan Praline candy and traditional Bread Pudding with Bourbon Sauce.  And we may add a few more recipes!

World Grooves @ Chanhassen High School

H.I.I.T. Circuit Training @ Chaska High School

Siting all day in a desk can be hard on our bodies and we all know activity is an important part of a healthy lifestyle – all of us included! 6th Grade Honor Band @ Chaska Middle School West

This brand new course offering is filled with dedicated 6th grade musicians as recommended by their band instructor.  Fun and challenging music will be programmed for a concert to be presented on Monday, June 4th at Chanhassen High School.
Directors are Scott Prescott and Eric Songer.

Middle School Honor Band (Grades 7 & 8) @ Chaska Middle School East

This ensemble is for 7th and 8th grade band students from each District 112 Middle School.  you must be nominated by your band director before enrolling in this course.  Honor Band is an advanced ensemble for middle school students who work hard in band and have reached high levels of achievement on their instruments.  Students will learn 6 pieces within only 10 rehearsals and then have two performance dates.  There will be an Elementary School tour on Friday, June 1 and a finale concert on Monday, June 4 at Chanhassen High School.  This course will be co-taught by Matt Potter and Gina Ford at Chaska Middle School East.

Body Sculpting and Conditioning @ Chaska High School

Come join the fun! Meet new people and get in shape! This class is for all levels. Tone your whole body and improve your muscular strength through many different sculpting and conditioning exercises head to toe. We will be using a variety of different exercise equipment, such as, hand weights, stability balls, kettle bells, medicine balls, resistance bands and more (all provided). This class is a great addition to any cardiovascular workout!

Ownership of your mind and life experience is available to you!  With the hectic pace and various stressors of life today, it’s easy to lose yourself into constant thoughts and emotional drama.  The practice of Mindfulness invites you to step back from your automatic thoughts and reactions to life’s challenges and allow you to discover the freedom of responding to your life with peacefulness and presence.  We will discuss the meaning of mindfulness and explore our own inner wisdom and awareness using proven techniques of meditation.  All are welcome to join this class.
