Skyhawks Basketball @ Carver Elementary School

Using our progressional curriculum and focusing on the whole player, we teach your child the skills they need for both on and off the court to be a better athlete.  Our sport specific staff will focus on respect, teamwork and responsibility as they will start each day with a ‘skill of the day’ and progress into drills and games making an unforgettable camp experience for your young athlete.  After 5 weeks of passing, shooting, dribbling and rebounding you will see why this is one of our most popular programs.

Little Tikes Tennis Blue @ Chanhassen High School, Tennis Court

Ages 4-5.  The main emphasis of this class is to build basic tennis skills and have fun! With the use of age appropriate equipment and up-beat, well trained instructors will start to build your child’s basic athletic skills and how to properly handle the racquet. In addition to further developing the child’s fine motor skills like hand-eye coordination, we will emphasize balance and agility. This class will be the foundation for this life-long sport! Please bring your tennis racquet and a water bottle.

The United States Tennis Association guidelines are that kids learn the game of tennis with age appropriate equipment and on age appropriate court dimensions. We also believe this is the correct way for kids to learn as well. Please watch the following video to understand why.

Little Tikes Tennis: Gold Ages 6-7 @ Chanhassen High School

Ages 6-7.  The main emphasis of this class is to continue to build basic tennis skills and have fun! Focus will also be placed on the A, B, C’s of tennis: Agility, Balance and Coordination. This class will be the foundation for this life-long sport! Beginner/Intermediate Tennis-Ages 8-10 @ Chanhassen High School

Ages 8-10 – With the use of age appropriate equipment we will continue to build your child’s athletic skills and emphasize agility, balance and coordination. The emphasis of this class will be on consistency as the child will learn to rally with other members of the class utilizing proper stroke technique. Their love of the game will continue to grow as their rally skills further develop!  In addition to rallying, we will focus on developing the serve.  Please bring your tennis racquet and a water bottle.

Fitness, Midnfulness and Yoga Fun with Fitness Boomers @ Carver Elementary School

This class has a little of everything you need for an active healthy lifestyle! Have fun with a mini fitness boot camp, games, activities, and rhythmic dancing.  We will focus on developing a greater awareness of both body, mind wellness and breathing as we learn how to be a healthy person in mind and body. Learn to focus and concentrate on how meditation can help lift mind and spirit. Increase balance, flexibility, agility, coordination, speed and motor skills. Learn about healthy eating habits, good sportsmanship and active life style and encourage personal fitness that can stretch through the adolescent and adulthood.  We’ll focus on different topics each week, ranging from Love and Kindness to How to overcome frustration and sadness.  Please bring a mat if you have one!

Grandmasters of Chess @ Chanhassen Elementary

New and returning students invited. Each {YEL!} Chess class follows four basic components:
•Teach It!…Each class, students are taught different chess concepts and coached to implement those concepts into their chess games
•Practice It!…Students practice positions set by the coach to improve their understanding of the concept.
•Puzzle It!… Students are given chess puzzles (constructed by WIM Serafima Sokolovskaya) and work with coach guidance to solve them.
•Play It!…Each class ends with students playing 20-30 minutes of chess. Coaches often feature in-class tournaments during the session.

STEM Enrichment using LEGO® bricks for the 21st Century learner.  Each {YEL!} STEM class follows four basic components: Teach It!…Each class students are taught the basic STEM engineering concepts behind each project.  Build It!…Students use LEGO® bricks to build a crane and design their own bridge and watchtower.
