Fitness, Midnfulness and Yoga Fun with Fitness Boomers @ Carver Elementary School
Apr 16 @ 2:35 pm – 3:20 pm

This class has a little of everything you need for an active healthy lifestyle! Have fun with a mini fitness boot camp, games, activities, and rhythmic dancing.  We will focus on developing a greater awareness of both body, mind wellness and breathing as we learn how to be a healthy person in mind and body. Learn to focus and concentrate on how meditation can help lift mind and spirit. Increase balance, flexibility, agility, coordination, speed and motor skills. Learn about healthy eating habits, good sportsmanship and active life style and encourage personal fitness that can stretch through the adolescent and adulthood.  We’ll focus on different topics each week, ranging from Love and Kindness to How to overcome frustration and sadness.  Please bring a mat if you have one!

Grandmasters of Chess @ Chanhassen Elementary

New and returning students invited. Each {YEL!} Chess class follows four basic components:
•Teach It!…Each class, students are taught different chess concepts and coached to implement those concepts into their chess games
•Practice It!…Students practice positions set by the coach to improve their understanding of the concept.
•Puzzle It!… Students are given chess puzzles (constructed by WIM Serafima Sokolovskaya) and work with coach guidance to solve them.
•Play It!…Each class ends with students playing 20-30 minutes of chess. Coaches often feature in-class tournaments during the session.

STEM Enrichment using LEGO® bricks for the 21st Century learner.  Each {YEL!} STEM class follows four basic components: Teach It!…Each class students are taught the basic STEM engineering concepts behind each project.  Build It!…Students use LEGO® bricks to build a crane and design their own bridge and watchtower. MARCH MADNESS IS HERE! Time for some round-ball! Take your skills to the next level in this fun, fast-paced session of Junior Basketball. Emphasis is placed on basic skills development of dribbling, shooting, passing, sportsmanship and teamwork. We then use engaging and dynamic games to cement students’ growth including our unique three-on-three style game. This is a high-octane class with an inclusive atmosphere. But hurry! The shot-clock is running down!

Beyond Pinch Pots with Kidcreate Studio @ Victoria Elementary

Every kid loves making pinch pots! But let’s go beyond that and learn super cool techniques to transform pinch pots into puppy pals, silly rabbits, playful penguins and much more. Not only will the kids learn the basics of working with clay but they will create amazing clay creations that are way cooler than a plain old ordinary pinch pot! Shhhh, don’t tell anyone, but this class is our best-kept secret! Register early before it fills up!
