Grant award leads to healthy community connections

auburnIt is harvest time at Auburn Manor! Thanks to a “Neighborhood Health Connection” grant from Allina Health, the kinship project was started. Partnering with SouthWest Metro Intermediate District 288 and Master Gardeners through the University of Minnesota Extension, Community Education place garden beds at Auburn Manor. Senior residents were able to plant, tend to, and harvest gardens this summer. Another community benefiting from the kinship program is the Riverview Terrace neighborhood. Residents in this neighborhood were able to attend trips to the Como Park Zoo and the Minnesota Landscape Arboretum. More about the kinship program and the community connections can be read in the Chaska Herald here. read more
