StormHawks Preschool

Now enrolling for 2017/2018 school year.

All Preschool classrooms:

  • Provide a nurturing and stimulating preschool environment
  • Meet high standards set by both state and federal government and are organized around the Minnesota Early Learning Standards and the Early Childhood Indicators of Progress
  • Employ licensed teachers who are committed to creating an environment which will prepare children for kindergarten in district schools
  • Partner with Schools of Eastern Carver County Early Childhood Special Education
  • Are organized to support developmentally appropriate activities where play opens up the world of learning for young children
  • Follow the school year calendar, meeting August-May (full-day preschool has an option for summer enrollment, also)

Registration fee: There is a $100 per-child fee due at time of registration. This fee is non-refundable in the event of a participant-initiated cancellation. $50 of the fee will be applied to your first month’s tuition.

  2. StormHawks Preschool Half Day (ages 3-5)
  3. StormHawks Preschool Full Day (ages 3-5)
  4. StormHawks Preschool Connection (ages 4-5)

Classrooms featuring:

  • Pyramid Model–supporting Social Emotional Competence in young children
  • Classroom Engagement Model–providing a framework for improving engagement, independence and social relationships by promoting full participation of every child in a classroom setting.
  • Reading Corps PreK–an early literacy program helping students read successfully by third grade through personalized instruction, student assessment, data review and research-based response to intervention strategies.

Curriculum and assessment:

  • Creative Curriculum–guides the environment and activities in the classroom partnered with;
  • Teaching Strategies Gold–provides assessment of our early learners

Our observation-based assessment system is directly linked to our curriculum allowing teachers to determine what each child knows and can do, individualize instruction as well as prepare developmental reports.  This is based on 38 objectives for development and learning that are aligned with Minnesota’s Early Learning Standards and the Early Childhood Indicators of Progress.
