Club Care

School Year Registration 2017/2018: For space availability contact Rita at mortensenr@district112.org or 952.556.6400.

Club Care is a school age child care program offered through Community Education. This is an optional program in the district. Club Care curriculum is developed based on the needs and interest of students and with the philosophy that learning is a year-round process.

Club Care demand and enrollment continues to increase each year and the 2017-18 school year is no exception.  Eastern Carver County Schools Community Education is committed to providing high quality, safe programming for our Club Care students – and this means hiring the appropriate number of staff members in each of our care sites. The part-time nature and irregular schedule of the Club Care program (early morning and late afternoon shifts) makes it especially challenging to fill these positions. However, we continue to look for high quality, caring staff to join our Club Care team.

ClubCare

Club Care is available to children in grades Kindergarten through 5th grade. The school year program is in operation before and after school on days that school is in session. The program is open from 6:30 a.m. until school starts and when school dismisses until 6 p.m.

What are the Club Care program dates and hours?

How do I register for Club Care?

Online registration for the 2017-18 school year opens on Monday, April 3, at 6:00 a.m.
Register online HERE beginning on Monday, April 3, at 6:00 a.m.

Space is limited – all online requests will be processed in the following order:

  • April 3-7: Process registrations received from families currently enrolled in school year Club Care, Full-Day Preschool, and their siblings.
  • April 10: Review and process remaining registrations in the order in which they were received; processed based on each site’s capacity.
  • All requests will be notified of registration status by May 1.
  • If Club Care reaches capacity at your desired school site, your registration request will be put on a pending list. “Pending registrations” will be notified as space becomes available.
What are the rates for the 2017/2018 school year?

Rates remain the same as in 2016-17, but 3 days/week is the new minimum for all registrations. This is due to greater demand for the program. Parents can choose to register for 3, 4 or 5 days/week on a consistent schedule. This allows the program to serve more families in our district while maintaining high quality. Rates for this fall are as follows:

Bluff Creek, Carver, Chanhassen, Clover Ridge, Jonathan
AM only    $11.00/day
PM only    $13.50/day
AM & PM    $22.50/day

La Academia, Victoria
AM only    $12.00/day
PM only    $12.50/day
AM & PM    $22.50/day

East Union
AM only    $12.00/day
Afterschool program is offered at Carver Elementary. Transportation is provided.
PM only    $12.50/day

Why do current families get to register first?

It is the program’s practice to provide currently enrolled families the courtesy of early registration. This is part of our commitment to customer service, and helps strengthen relationships between students and staff.

Why does Club Care limit the number of students who can enroll? Why not offer it to all elementary students?

Our exceptional Club Care program is popular and demand is high. The program provides academic enrichment and recreation activities. Our priority is to maintain quality in a safe environment for students. Because Club Care operates under the guidelines of the state Department of Human Services, which licenses and oversees child care programs statewide, we can only offer spots to children until the program is full. The program becomes full when we maximize the staff-to-student ratio at each site.

Can I make changes to my approved contract? What is the process and deadline to do that?

If your child care needs change after your original registration, please go online (HERE) to request a schedule change. Online changes will be allowed up until Aug 11. After that date, please call 952-556-7212 to report a change in your child care needs.

What are the school start times for 2017/2018?

The start times for the 2017/2018 school year can be found here.

I still have questions, who can I call?

For more information, please call Carol Brenton, Club Care secretary, at 952-556-7212, or BrentonC@district112.org.

In the event Club Care is full at my child’s school, what other child care options are offered in the area?

Families looking for other child care options should contact Carver County’s Health & Human Services Department at 952-361-1714 to find a licensed provider. Click here for more info.
