Drivers Education

Offered in partnership with Safeway, Drivers Education includes classroom instruction and behind-the-wheel experience.

Classroom Instruction:

• 30 hours of classroom instruction.
• Missed lessons can be made up at the next session or at one of Safeway’s other locations.
• Students can take the class at age 14½ but cannot take their permit test until they are age 15.

Behind-the-Wheel:

• Six hours of drive time in three 2-hour sessions
• Safeway recommends students take their first lesson 6-8 weeks after receiving their permit.
• The lessons should be a minimum of 30 days apart to allow for driving practice.
• The lessons can be completed up to one year after completing classroom.
• Scheduling is offered online for 24/7 convenience.
